Centenary Day
We would like to thank everyone who visited and contributed towards the success of our Centenary Day, on Saturday 20th October 2007, marking 100 years of service.
Visitors welcomed in the next era of the William H Painter business, by delving into the history of the local area by exploring log books, photographs, letters and records dating back to 1907.
Our extensively refurbished premises set the scene for visitors to explore funerals as a reflection of life, with creative flower arrangements, and displays of bespoke and eco coffins.
We were very honoured to be joined by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham - Councilor Randal Brew OBE, and the Lady Mayoress. They kindly attended to unveil a centenary plaque to commemorate the occasion. They also presented the company with a gift for its services to the community. We were also very proud to be able to welcome Kingsley Bryant, the President of the National Association of Funeral Directors.
The weather was perfect for guests to enjoy rides in our traditional horse-drawn hearse.
The day witnessed a monumental masonry display and guests were able to try their hand at carving.
Again, we'd like to thank you for your support on the day.
