Funeral flowers
Flowers are a simple and beautiful way to create a personal tribute and convey a message for which words are sometimes inadequate. Coffin sprays are generally provided by the family or close friends. These can come in the form of a wreath, a cross or into the shape of somebody's name. Many people choose flowers that were a favourite of the person who has died. There are many types of floral arrangements, and we have a brochure to help you decide. |

Every type of flower has its own meanings and historical symbolisis. It is useful to know what different flowers symbolise before making your choice.
Roses, particuarly red roses, are beautiful flowers popular with many people because they signify strength and passion.
Lilies are said to signify purity and innocence, they are a common choice and are widely available in white, pink and yellow.
Chrysanthemums signify truth and honesty and are a traditional funeral flower in many countries across the world. White, pink and yellow are just some of the colours they are available in.
Another traditional funeral flower is the Carnation.
Carnations are a popular choice due to their long lifespan and are available in many colours including red and white.

Charitable Donations
Some people choose to have flowers from the family only, and choose a charitable organisation for others to give a donation to. However, sending flowers can be a healing gesture for people who have lost someone close, so it might be worth giving people the choice of whether to send flowers or donate money to a charity, or both.
Here at William H Painter we support Marie Curie Cancer Care, although we are happy to support any charity of your choice.
